Why Welded Hydraulic Cylinders: Although Tie-Rod Cylinders are less expensive to manufacture than welded cylinders, we choose to supply welded cylinders at affordable prices because welded cylinders are much less likely to bend under heavy weight.
Why 3,000 PSI Cylinders: Although you may get by on light duty loaders with lower PSI, we believe you want them strong enough not to buckle under a little more weight than you planned on lifting.
Your Cylinder Choice: Select cylinders based on measurements using our chart below and the dimensional data within the bore charts below, because loader manufacturers are not consistent in which cylinder size they use per front end loader model.
Terminology Defined & Illustrated: In the diagram below measurement "R" designates the pin hole diameter. Pin hole lengths are represented by measurement "E" and measurement "G". When a cylinder is retracted it is in the closed position and the retracted measurement is from pin center to pin center. An extended cylinder is one in the full open position and is measured again from pin center to pin center (measurement A). The difference in length between the fully closed and the fully open cylinder is called the stroke.
To determine the bore subtract about 1/2" from the outside diameter of the cylinder tube. The rod diameter is the diameter of the shaft that extends out from the cylinder (measurement "D"). Port size is identified as "C". Although there are many port sizes out there these cylinders cover three common sizes with the listed fraction being the thread width and the number after the dash being the thread count per inch. The options are SAE4 at 7/16-20, SAE6 at 9/16-18, & SAE8 at 3/4-16.
